The Lotus Energy Portable Power Pack is one such example.
Originally designed to carry and power lap top computers in the remote Himalayas, this
power pack
was designed for a World Bank Nepal census program. The pack carries
and powers a small lap top computer and small bubble jet printer.
Other custom solutions include larger stand-alone systems for particular applications
such as the rhino-proof solar array in the Chitwan Jungl.

Double Portable Panel

panel box is specially designed for traveling. Two 36 watt Siemens panels are connected
in parallel to give maximum amperage. The panel box is constructed from high impact
fiberglass, padded to protect the panels against vibrations and is secured by safety
locks. It is suitable for all seasons and can be carried safely to any remote location.
Two adjustable folding aluminum legs support the panels to maximize capture of the
suns rays.

Single Portable Panel

This portable panel box has the same features as the double
panel box, however, it contains a single panel only. The single portable panel box comes
with a box cover secured with safety locks to protect the panel while being carried.

Battery Box |

The charge controller box provides everything that is needed to link
the solar panel and the battery to the loads. Like the panel box and
battery box, it is built of high impact fiberglass, and is padded
with high density closed cell foam. The controller box provides all
necessary control functions for most typical outdoor photovoltaic
systems. It contains a charge controller, a multiple voltage DC
regulator and a DC to AC converter. The charge control function
protects the battery from overcharging by the photovoltaic array and
from over discharging in the event of
extended cloudy weather. The DC regulator provides power for
low-voltage DC appliances. The converter provides AC power to run AC
appliances.

Control Box |

This battery box is for use with the portable
panel box and the controller system box. It has input for the panels and output for the
control box (described below). The high impact fiberglass box is lined with both high and
low density foams and the batteries fit in perfectly so that there is no chance of damage
or leakage. The box cover with safety locks secures the battery so that it can be safely
and comfortably carried to remote locations.
